The ‘Friends of Meltham and Meltham Mills Band’ was formed a number of years ago following the success of previous Supporters Club which had run for many years. The ‘Friends of Meltham and Meltham Mills Band’ continue to play a very important part in maintaining the band’s future, especially as we now support three bands; Meltham & Meltham Mills Band, Meltham Community Brass and Meltham Junior Blast. None of our three bands are sponsored, they work hard throughout the year, at their own expense, to raise funds by playing in concerts, contests, as well as organising fundraising activities.

We are very grateful that Meltham and Meltham Mills Band have been generously supported by specific Grants/Donations from organisations including Meltham Crossroads Project and Meltham Town Council over the years. A recent donation supplied our Brass Roots Project with instruments as well as supporting the Meltham Community Brass and the Junior Blast Band.

The financial support of the ‘Friends of Meltham and Meltham Mills Band’ assists with financial planning for the band’s year to year activities and sometimes for specific needs such as the cost of hiring a coach or to pay for the hire of a venue hall for a prestigious concert. In 2010 the support generated through ‘The Friends of Meltham and Meltham Mills Band’ replaced one of the band’s Euphonium instruments at a cost of over £3000.

The ‘Friends of Meltham and Meltham Mills Band’ are proud to support all three bands. In January 2024 the main band were promoted to the 1st Section after winning the Yorkshire Regional Championship in both 2022 and 2023 whilst in the 2nd Section, hopefully you can also join in this success by supporting us as a ‘Friend of Meltham and Meltham Mills Band’.

For a suggested minimum donation of £10 per year, you will receive the following:

  • Annual newsletter with updates on what the three bands have been up to.
  • Automatic entry into the Friends of Meltham & Meltham Mills Band Annual Christmas Prize Draw with cash prizes ranging from £50 to £200.
  • You can pre-order your Concert tickets so you don’t miss out on seats.
